Sultan al-Awliya

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani

5 May 2010 Lefke, Cyprus

Dastoor. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Dastoor.

Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, `Azeez Allah.

Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Subhaan Allah.

Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Sultaan Allah!

O our Lord, You are our Lord! Give much more glory, honor, and praisings for the honor of the Creation, Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Zidhu yaa Rabbee `izzan wa sharafan nooran wa surooran, sultaanan wa ridwaana. (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Thumma salaam to the responsible one for this dunya who is arranging everything on it on behalf of the Seal of Prophets, Sayyidina Muhammad (s). (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.) Madad, yaa Sultanu 'l-Awliya.

Then, as-salaamu `alaykum our attenders. Do you think that Shaytan and its followers are attending what we are saying more than you? Because they are not knowing what I am going to speak, and I don't know also which thing I am going to say. But it is a blame for Muslims that they are not giving any importance or giving a short time in 24 hours to hear something that should be for them good here and Hereafter!

This is a holy meeting and therefore, Shaytan is just kicked out! But yet, from far away it is going to hear something. That something, it may use it on a wrong way for cheating people. As long as he is hearing this association from people, at least Shaytan is trying to make their numbers slowly to come down, to come down. What does it mean? That means that this bombarding is a heavenly bombarding! It is bombarding for the fortress of Shaytan or shaytanic fortresses. If not, Shaytan is not taking so much care. And it has such extraordinary instruments, but its instruments are not like our instruments, no! But it has such exceptions, subhaanAllah, not to use such things, no. Because that is teaching people, it is not using such a thing.

In a moment, it may run from west to east or from east to west or from north to south, and its aim--I am saying "it,", I am not saying "he," no, to make it down to the level of animals. Its aim is to make everything according to its mentality and asking to change realities and to change true ones, to make everything as it was. Changing and giving to people in such a way that they should be astonished. Showing something and giving another understanding! There are people astonishing. No, Truth is one, there can't be a contrary for truth. Truth is one, and Reality is one because the Lord of Heavens is One! And He is asking to examine or to try His servants' beliefs.

O `ulamas of Salafi! What does it mean? O Ansari `ulamas! What does it mean? O Shi`a `ulamas! What does it mean when you are reciting:

Wa lanabluwannakum bishay`in mina al-khawfi wa al-ju`i wa qaqsin mina al-'amwli wa al-'anfusi wa ath-thamarati wa bashshiri as-saabireen.

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to the saabireen, those who patiently persevere. (2:155)

What are you saying when you are reciting this holy verse? What does it mean? What does it mean for the Seal of Prophets, or what does it mean for the inheritors of the Seal of Prophets (s), or what does it mean for learned people? “… hear to me and listen to me and learn through My holy verses. That is an opening I am granting to your Prophet (s). O People! Don't be in doubt, but qatee`an, certainly I am going to try you, or test you, or examine you.” Yes, and that heavenly addressing is never stopping. That means in our lives, every moment we have a test.

To prepare Mankind, our youngsters who are reaching the age of responsibility must know that every moment we are entering is a new test. Shaytan is saying, "Don't believe, it can't be." Ptuu! (spit) That is Shaytan's words. I am making Shaytan's words under my feet!!! Why is Allah Almighty swearing and saying, "No doubt. I am going to test you every moment, and every breath I may make a new test?" SubhaanAllah! Allah Almighty's words are oceans and oceans! But we are like a small fish opening its mouth, running and showing, "O people, I am running to drink the whole ocean!" and its mouth may only be a centimeter. Or like a whale, it may be as big as this room, but that is teaching people, "I am running for that whole ocean to be for me, and I have been honored to be an ocean!" Yes.

And Allah Almighty is making that test for what? To give a new understanding, and to make His servants prepared every moment for a new test. Therefore, for everyone that is passing a test, there is an honor. Therefore, the Lord of Heavens is testing His servants. For what? And that is a real point that we are understanding according to heavenly explanations. When Allah Almighty says things, is it easiness or hardness? Khayrihi wa sharrihi min Allah. "Destiny, good and bad, is from Allah." (An article of faith.) We have been ordered to believe everything is from Allah Almighty, but it is a simple understanding that Allah Almighty put a pillar of our faith that we must believe, khayrihi wa sharrihi min Allah. "Destiny, good and bad, is from Allah." That is coming now for a new understanding,. Khayrihi wa sharrihi min Allah. What does that mean? Wa lanabluwan nakum bishay`, “I am going to test you and I am making an oath on My Greatness that I created you and landed you on this planet, and I am going to reward you!”

O `ulamas of Salafi! O Ansari `ulamas! O Shi`a `ulamas! So many titles. Do you teach common people that holy verse? I never heard if you are teaching, “O people, you are giving your oath and everything happening for this life is a test from our Lord, from our Creator,” then they should be happy. Happy and no more shakwa, complaining. Just today I heard, for example, in Egypt thousands and thousands of people are running in the streets and shouting, “Hundreds of dollars are too small an amount, we can't live with a hundred dollars!" That is wrong! Why are they saying this? Why are their `ulamas not saying to them, "Do you think Sahaabah (r), Companions of the Prophet (s) had a hundred dollars monthly?" Why are they not teaching that the Sahaabah (r) were sadiqeen was-saabireen, trustworthy people, thankful people, and patient ones? Even if they found one date daily, they were so happy, saying, “We found one date and we have something to drink, alhamdulillah." And even when they were not finding, they were putting stones on their stomachs to relieve the bitterness of hunger.

(... ) So many people are asking to reach that honor, but they are saying, “No, we are asking to reach dunya.” If you are asking dunya, no dunya for you! The best teacher for all nations was the Seal of Prophets, Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.)

Then people coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan, or from Hindustan, or from "Arabistan" (Arab countries)--people are running from east to west, from west to east, for what? What are they asking for? To reach (food and eating). They may reach to ten dollars, if going to America they may reach ten dollars. Or some people running to Australia or Arabistan, forgetting their real honor that Allah Almighty granted to them, but they are not thinking because they have been left without heavenly knowledge.

Our doctors of Shari`ah, and Shi`a doctors everywhere are running after dunya to reach some high ranks. No, leave that, to show that Allah Almighty is testing you in every moment to reach goodness or badness, to teach khayrihi wa sharrihi min Allah. And you must say, “We are poor ones. Yaa Rabbee! You have honored us to create us!" ( .... audio cut...) Blame on those people! Allah Almighty is never going to be happy about it.

O People! Ask forgiveness and try to reach real obediency. O Holiness of Christians! O Holiness the Pope! You must teach people. O `ulamas of Egypt! You must teach people for such a point. O Rabbis! Don't fight for lands. O Palestine people! Don't fight for lands. O Iranian scholars! Teach people not to fight for Earth, but they must be for Allah Almighty! They must try to be always for Allah. That is the best, as it makes our Lord happy with us and pleased with us and to be in enjoyment with us, and He grants to you happiness and pleasure and everything you can ask!

O our Lord! Be pleased with us and send us someone to teach us good manners that are suitable for servanthood, for the honor of the most beloved one, Sayyidina Muhammad (s). (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.)

Fatihah. Ameen, ameen , ameen.

(42 minutes) Today a little bit more.

How many people there? (632, Sayyidee) Getting up. It is true, it is true. Shaykh Hisham Effendi?

(Mawlana Shaykh speaks with Shaykh Hisham on the phone.)

What Does Seal of Prophets Mean?

Sultan al-Awliya

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani

6 May 2010 Lefke, Cyprus

Madad yaa Sayyidee, madad. Dastoor yaa Sayyidee, madad. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Laa ilaaha illa-Llah, laa ilaaha illa-Llah, laa ilaaha illa-Llah, Sayyidina wa nabiyina Muhammadun Rasoolullah. Yaa Nooru 'l-`Arshillah. Zidhu yaa Rabbee `izzan wa sharafan nooran wa surooran, sultaanan wa ridwaana. Alfu salaat, alfu salaam `ala Sayyidi 'l-Awwaleen wa’l-Akhireen. Yaa Sayyidina Muhammad (s) wa `ala `aalihi wa ashaabihi wa anta... bika ihsaan yawma 'd-deen, ishf `aa lana. (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)

We are asking for heavenly support, for addressing all people from east to west, from north to south who have been honored to be deputies for this world. As-salaamu `alaykum our attenders! Attend and give much more care to learn something. I am trying to learn something. And we are saying, a`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem, bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem! Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem! Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem! Allahu Akbar! (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)

O Our Attenders! Welcome to you. How are you today? One day more we are approaching to the graveyard. (laughter) Yes, be happy, be happy! For what are we going to be happy? Because we have been loaded with something for this life from khayrihi wa sharrihi min Allah, from good things and from bad things. And we are trying to carry that heavy burden. When our last moment is coming, and those heavy burdens are taken away from us, our souls are going to be free, because every heaviness that makes people unhappy here, and Hereafter also, are a heavy burden on our shoulders.

Therefore, I am saying to you, O people, one day more passing and a new day coming and our days on this planet are getting less and less until going to be zero. You know that there is a word that people are now saying, adding from 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, counting down, yes, we are on that point. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Allah (swt) says:

وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِندَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ

Wa kullu shay'in 'indahu bi miqdaarin.
Everything with Him is in (perfect) proportion (devoid of chaos). (ar-Ra'd 13:8)

(Mawlana Shaykh sits.) Yes, no chaos on this planet. Everything is just in its most perfect condition. We are making chaos, using our will power in a wrong way.

O Salafi `ulamas, O Azhari `ulamas, Doctors! (Mawlana laughs) O Shi`a `ulamas! This is for Muslim societies and also asking His Holiness the Pope, and I am asking also to the chief rabbi, who is never accepting Christianity or Islam. If everything remains to your accepting or not accepting, a long time ago this world would have finished. Thanks to the Lord of Heavens that He is not leaving it up to you to accept Jesus Christ or refuse Islam! Islam is like the sun in the sky! Why are you closing your eyes to Islam? Was our Prophet, Sayyidina Muhammad, peace be upon him, (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) down and Moses (a) up? (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)

قُلْ هَاتُواْ بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

Qul hatoo burhaanakum in kuntum saadiqeen,

Bring your proof! Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful (21:24)

O Rabbis! Bring your evidence. Declare the signs of the prophecy of the Seal of Prophet (s) as written in the Torah. What was the sign of prophecy of Moses (a)? Say! Which one was nuqsaan? Which qualities were not in the Seal of Prophets (s)? Which signs of prophecy are you not finding in Sayyidina Muhammad (s)? (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.) Why you are insisting, for what? Are you claiming that the pole star may be understood more than the moon? Are you saying Venus is much more clear than the moon? If you are using distance, the nearest prophecy to Mankind is for whom? The last one. For (the one) who is claiming, "I am the last, as well as the first."? Moon is the nearest one, Venus is the farthest. You are accepting that what you are seeing in Venus is more clear, but not accepting the moon? "We are not accepting!" Yes? What is your evidence? Say! Say! You must say why you are claiming that Venus is more clear than what is appearing on the moon. No mentality may accept this claiming from you.

O `ulamas Azhar, `ulamas Shi`a, `ulamas Salafi, and `ulamas Hind (India), `ulamas Maghrib (west)! I am authorized to address all nations about what is wrong and what is true. Whoever is listening to what is spoken here must measure it, must put it on a scale, and then they must look at its weight. I am asking, for what was the Seal of Prophets (s) coming? Say! For what was the Seal of Prophets (s) granted to be the "seal"? That means if he has the seal, if he is not putting his seal on anyone's (designation as prophet), they are not going to be prophets. He is the representative of the Lord of Heavens! And the Lord of Heavens, subhaanAllah, Who is making him to be His representative? He is in him, in his real being. No one knows what He is doing. It is impossible. But sending sometimes some sparkles, making such a universe, billions of them! Yes? Anyone saying no? You can't say! You can't say! Allahu akbar al-Akbar! O our Lord!

O chief rabbis! O chief of Christianity! And also I am asking Islamic scholars and I am asking first Salafun Saalih, what does "seal" mean? (Mawlana Shaykh laughs.) The "Seal" of Prophets, yes. I am looking for answers from His Holiness the Pope, from His Holiness the Chief Rabbi, and from Salafi `ulamas and Azhari `ulamas, all those people claiming, "We are doctors! We are authorized ones to speak on this and on that." Say what is the meaning to be the "seal" of prophets? As they are saying to me, I am saying to you. "Seal" is mohor, a stamp; it means to be "sealed" as a prophet, from beginning up to the end. If that one, the Seal of Prophets (s), is not putting his seal on their name, never is Adam (a) going to be prophet, or Nuh (a) going to be a prophet, or Jesus Christ (a), or any of the124,000 prophets can't be prophets. Say! Why are you hiding such a reality? That is reality that they are making me to speak from east to west! You must learn. If you are not knowing, you must know (Mawlana Shaykh stands) that if the Seal of Prophets, Sayyidina Muhammad (s) did not put his seal on them, they cannot be prophets! (Mawlana Shaykh sits.) That is real. Real Truth. Allah Almighty is not looking at such a things. He is saying, “I was a Hidden Treasure,” yet He is a Hidden Treasure, and for them He created the first Creation, who were saying, “We are `ulamas.” `Ulamas are book-given people, Jews and Christians (People of the Book).

Who was the first creature that our Lord’s Divinely Will made to appear in existence? Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.) And Who made Sayyidina Muhammad (s) (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sit.) to look after all Creation on behalf of His Creator? Such things you must learn! Don’t say, “I am a doctor.” Don’t say, “I am a rabbi.” Don’t say, “I am a pope.” No, this is their honor (given to them) and therefore, if you are giving glory for the Seal of Prophets (s), it is on behalf of our Lord.

Yes, we are approaching the Last Day and Mankind is not knowing everything. The treasures of knowledge are going to be opened a little bit, and those people will know who is their Creator, their Lord, and for whom He created all of Creation. You know Arabic Qur'an, `ulama Azhari, Salafun Salih, `ulamas Shia` and learned people who claim, "We are learned people." What have you learned if you are not knowing such a thing? What are you learning? You are leaving wheat and taking straw! And you are saying, “We reached what we are asking; that straw is for animals, but grains are for us.” Leave sifaat ul-haywaan, animals’ attributes! Come to reach Man's attributes!

O People! You must know, because now time is over! The time granted to this world to be in existence is finishing. Therefore, the Lord of Heavens is asking to open something from the heavenly lights to reach to peoples’ understanding. Leave saying, “I am a doctor," or, “I am holiness.” Leave to be said, "We are learned ones." Look to new ones. You are knowing Arabic. What is Allah Almighty saying? What is your Lord saying?

كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ

Kulla yawmin huwa fee sha'an.

Every day in (new) splendor He does (shine.) (ar-Rahman, 55:29)

You must know this. What is your sha'an, position? New daily appearances are coming, according to Allah Almighty’s holy words, kullu yawmin Huwa fee shaan. "Every day His manifestations multiply." You know what is Allah Almighty's shaan, everyday and today? No. Therefore, kun taaliboon, be learners, students. Don’t say, “It is enough that we have graduated from Sorbonne, from Cambridge, from Harvard,” leave that! Allah (swt) said, kullu yawmin Huwa fee shaan. Why Allah Almighty is saying that everyday comes a new page from the program He created in His Divine Presence, on the Preserved Tablet? What is going on? You must know and you must teach people to say the truth! Teach them what is true, and you must learn to be true ones, and you must ask from Eternal Truth!

O `ulamas Azhar Sharif, Salafun Saalih, and Shi`as! Look and understand! Come and ask! If you are not knowing, you may ask. You are saying, “We are `ulamas of Islam.” Are you reciting Holy Qur’an? In Holy Qur’an in Surah al-Kahf what was Moses (a) asking? He was from uloo'l-`adham, among the distinguished five prophets granted extra from divine treasures. Then Moses asked, "I heard someone is knowing more than me, I must run to find him and learn from him." Why you are not going that way? Do you think Qur'an Kareem is a book of histories? Keep your adab with the Seal of Prophets (s), with the Holy Qur'an, with all prophets!

That is an ocean! We must stop here or all of you will drown! Allah Allah, Allah Allah. These are divine realities from real truth and real true ones, but our egos prevent us from asking and we say, "I am not in need to ask this one or that one." Keep your adab, O learned people in Islam, in Christianity, and in Judaism!

May Allah forgive us, for the honor of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.)

Fatihah.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim: Wa `alaykum as-salaam. I am looking, mashaa-Allah.

Shaykh Hisham: If you give them a few words they will be happy!

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim: May Allah increase them!

Shaykh Hisham: Please say a word for them.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim: O our attenders, as-salaamu `alaykum! I am asking from our Lord His blessings here and Hereafter, and for us to be Paradise people. May Allah Almighty give to you saadah (happiness) and to be accepted servants here and Hereafter. Hisham Effendi, give my respect to him. As-salaamu `alaykum! Hadha min fadali Rabbee, this is a grant from our Lord.

Shaykh Hisham: We love you, Sayyidee! (300 Kuala Lumpur mureeds sing, “We love you!”)

How Many Paradises are There?

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

5 May 2010 Kuala Lumpur

`Isha Suhbah at Home of Datuk Salman Younes

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh! Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdullahi Rabbi 'l-`alameen, was-salaatu was-salaamu `ala Sayyidi 'l-Awwaleen wa’l-Akhireen. Alhamdulillahi 'l-ladhee hadaana lil Islami wama kunna linahtadeea lawla `an hadanallah alhamdulillahi`ala li`ameehi zaheeran wa baatinah. .....alhamdulillah `ala niaami...was-salaatu was-salaamu `ala bashar.

O respected brothers and sisters, respected sons and daughters, I have the great honor to have been invited by our host, Datuk Salman Younes, and we have to pray for him that Allah (swt) gives him happiness in dunya and Akhirah. He is generous, because generosity is coming from "al-Kareem," (The Most Generous) and from the manifestation of that Beautiful Name, Allah gives support in many different ways, helping schools, helping mosques, or whatever.

And I don't know where to begin, but before I begin I will mention something small that happened to me recently. We are in a modern country and a very hospitable country, Malaysia, and every year I am coming here. Two years ago, my shaykh, may Allah give him long life to spread his teaching east and west, he told me, "I like you to go to Africa, the middle, West Africa, East Africa," and to South Africa, we went long time ago. And I was thinking, what am I going to do in Africa? I was wondering, I have too many things to do and this other order comes on top.

When shaykh says something there is wisdom in it and the ego will try to encounter it and break it. If you lose something from yourself it is from the human complexity that is your ego and you want to do it. But when it comes from the master, from mashaykh, you will find tons of excuses not to do it! It is very difficult to say someone, "Do this," (as they won't do it). That is why Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, used to say, "I have two students, but lots of followers; one is Nazim Effendi and the other is Husayn Effendi." It means Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and another Mawlana, Shaykh Hussayn who passed away (recently). Grandshaykh (q) said, "When I give an order they can fulfill it but others cannot, especially when a heavy order comes. But when I say to these two, 'Give,' they give everything they have."

So he said, "I like you to go to Africa and take this picture, and find me this shaykh. I am interested in that one."
I asked, "How did you get that picture?"
He said, "I don't know, they were on my desk." So he passed it to me. So you know the ego works (against us) a lot, so I gave it to someone who lives in Ghana. Where are you going to find a ring in a desert? I was postponing it.
He came and after six months he said, "I cannot find it, no such person exists."
So I went to Mawlana after six months and he said, "Did you go?"
I said, "No. They looked, but did not find."
He said, "You go."

So I went to Ghana and the whole community and shaykhs came to meet me, but I did not see that one in the photo. They received me at the airport when I went to Ivory Coast and came back. And when I returned, I saw that one at the airport looking me in the face, and he said, "I was waiting for you."
I said, "How did you find me?"
He said, "I saw Shaykh Nazim in a dream saying, 'My son-in-law is coming, go meet him.'" So how did he know the time, when I would be there?

He invited me to his mosque, so I went the next day and he said, "I want you to come with me, I want to show you my school." We went in a narrow road, it is only alleys and in the middle of the alley is a small ditch of open sewage all the way between the houses until reaching the school. You can see and smell everything. You can see the worms inside and all the dangerous animals swimming in that water! We reached that school and I can tell you a stable for animals is better than that school, a very primitive building made out of sugar cane and sticks, with a tin roof. The classes are ten classes from grades 1 to 10, and boys and girls are separated. I looked at the blackboard and saw all the classes are Islamic studies, for 250 students, all orphans, no father, no mother. That shaykh is sponsoring all of them. Their clothes were worn out, such that you feel shy to give these clothes to someone. That is the kind of life they are living, and yet they are so happy and grateful for what Allah (swt) has provided!

Now let us go back to Allah's generosity. Allah (swt) has no limits. He is the Creator of generosity! And I will quote a hadith of Prophet (s), that he asked his Sahaabah (r), and we have a scholar here, I am not saying I am a scholar, I am not even an ant. He (s) said to his Sahaabah (r), man al-muflis, "Who is bankrupt?" They said, "The one who has no money?” And Prophet (s) said, laa, man la `amal lah, "No, it is the one that has no `amal." They said, "Yaa RasoolAllah! wa law salla wa saam? Even if he prays and fasts?" Prophet (s) said, "Even if he prays and fasts, he might not have any good deeds.” That is dangerous! This is transmitted by Bukhari and Muslim. When you read that hadith you will be frightened.

I was thinking when I was sitting here, what Mawlana shaykh will send to me to speak, so I brought Grandshaykh's notebook. But he directed me to speak about this issue. I will explain about what Prophet (s) asked, "Who is bankrupt?" Everyone knows the one who has no wealth, immediately their minds went to money, thinking who is poor. This is not about money, but we are thinking only about dunya, not akhirah; then the meaning changes.

For Prophet (s), this dunya means nothing, so what means is akhirah, where he will be in the Divine Presence under Allah's Beautiful Names and Attributes:

من عادى لي ولياً فقد آذنته بحرب مني، وما تقرب لي عبدي بشيء أحب إلي مما افترضته عليه، ومازال عبدي يتقرب إلي بالنوافل حتى أحبه فإذا أحببته كنت سمعه الذي يسمع به وبصره الذي يبصر به ويده التي يبطش بها وقدمه التي يمشي بها وإذا سألني لأعطينه وإذا استغفرني لأغفرن له وإذا استعاذني أعذته
Maa zaala `abdee yataqaraba ilayya bi 'n-nawaafil hatta uhibah. Fa idhaa ahbabtahu kuntu sama`ulladhee yasma`u bihi wa basarahulladhee yubsiru bihi, wa yadahulladhee yubtishu bihaa wa lisanahulladhee yatakallama bih.
My servant does not cease to approach Me through voluntary worship until I will love him. When I love him, I will become the ears with which he hears, the eyes with which he sees, the hand with which he acts, and the tongue with which he speaks.

And it is said by Imam Nawawi that Prophet (s) saw Allah (swt) with the eyes of his head. It is explained in a small book by Imam an-Nawawi. It means Prophet (s) wants all of us to see what he saw, and to understand poverty is not about money. Today people are running for money, but there are people to whom Allah is giving piety and sincerity, and there are many who work for both akhirah and dunya.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana 'aatina fid-dunya hasanahtan wa fil ‘akhiraati hasanahtan wa qina ‘adhaban-naar.

Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire. (Al-Baqarah, 2:201)

Rabbana 'aatina fid-dunya, "Give us in dunya, al-khayr, the good." Al-khayr means, "Give us happiness, and wealth, and give us piety and sincerity and in Akhirah the same." But awliyaaullah add to that, Rabbana atina....hasanah (one hasanah). What do you think is the meaning here of hasanah? A part, one wa fil 'Akhiraati. In Akhirah there are an infinite number of hasanaat. So why hasanah? When you look into it, there is a deep meaning. When you look, who is hasanah from human beings? Who is al-Qasim? Who is al-Mahi? As mentioned in the hadeeth, who is TaHa wa YaSeen?

So Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan means, "Give us in dunya Muhammad (s)! That is the hasanah! Awliyaaullah test their goal to be with Prophet (s) in every moment. That is the biggest hasanah that Allah gives them, the presence of His Prophet (s)! That someone comes in the street in Arab countries, raises his hand and wants money saying, "hasanah, hasanah!" ...Some don't give a penny despite their excess wealth.

Prophet (s) is the Chosen One. Allah (swt) raised him to qaaba qawsayni. Whatever others want to say about its meaning, we say Prophet (s) went to qaaba qawsayni, "within two bows' length," not further than that. It means he was so near, the nearest. He did not say he stopped, he said aw adna, or less! It means Prophet (s) reached the Divine Presence when no one was able to reach so near, as mentioned in Holy Qur'an. You have to be very careful with the words you choose.

So who is very near to Allah (swt) is the hasanah. So when a wali looks at the meaning of, "Yaa Rabbee, grant me to be near that one who exemplifies that hasanah," Allah grants them characters from the personality of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). (Mawlana stands and recites salawaat.) Wa fi 'l-akhirati hasanatan. What is the best hasanah in akhirah? Of course, to be with Prophet (s) is the best hasanah! The opposite is to be far from Prophet (s). But Prophet (s) said, "If you want to be far from me, you have no `amal." How no `amal when you are praying and fasting? Because the one praying is saying shahadah; the five pillars are there; for fasting he is stopping from work, so making sadaqah; he is facing Ka`batullah, so that is Hajj. So the five pillars of Islam are within the salaat but Prophet said, "Even if he fasts and prays, he has no `amal." Why does he have no `amal? Because he lost his `amal; you pray from here and you do something wrong from there. And what is worse, you do against the rights of people!

Allah says, "If you make a mistake and repent you will be forgiven." Is it not? "(O Muhammad!) Say to them, 'Don't loose hope from the mercy of Allah.'" But when it belongs to His servant, between the servant, that is the disaster, because on the Day of Judgment you will have to ask to be forgiven by your brother whom you have backbitten. Allah will take his right and give it to that one who oppressed him and He will bring in front of him the oppressor and the oppressed, azh-zhaalim wa 'l-mazhloom.

And He will ask, "Are you satisfied?"

He will say, "No, I want more." So Allah will take and give until it is finished.

"He did big damage to me, my life, my family, everything, he did the worst to me and he never apologized." And the one who apologizes first is the winner, even he is going into the hidden order of the shaykh; we did not explain that yet! The one who apologizes, even if you are not mistaken, even if you told the complete truth, but to show better humbleness you apologize, you are the winner, you are better than the other person.

What is the benefit? On the Day of Judgment. I don't want my right in dunya, I want it in akhirah. The mazhloom wants it in akhirah. So everything is finished and the oppressor's rights are gone. He takes the sayiaat and puts them on the oppressed and then Allah will judge the oppressor.

Prophet (s) said, "Don't lose your `amal." We have to follow what Prophet (s) mentioned in this particular hadith. So why do we want to lose our `amal by backbiting or spreading nameemah or fitna? Fitna never ends; it eats the `amal. So keep nice with people, then you will be safe.

This is the meaning of that hadith but awliyaullah have more wisdom, more meanings. Let's go to the other meaning, that mukhlis is the one with no wealth (bankrupt). What is the meaning of wealth to Allah and His Prophet, dunya or akhirah? Akhirah. What is the wealth that you are losing in dunya? What did Prophet (s) say? "No, the one that is poor is not poor from wealth, it is the one that has no `amal." What kind of `amal? When you pray and you fast, okay, what will happen at the end if you pray and fast? You go to Paradise. How many paradises there are? There are an infinite number of paradises! Go to the first one, no problem, go to the second, third, fourth, in every paradise, and we know of seven, but there are an infinite number of paradises. If we say Allah has only seven paradises, astaghfirullah, we are saying Allah is poor. Haasha! Only seven? Seven in the understanding of human beings, because they like numbers, but it might be the first Paradise has (contains) billions of paradises!

How stupid we are when we make tafseer! Like look in the galaxies, there are 80 billion stars. In our galaxy we have 80 billion. In one Paradise we cannot have 80 billion paradises? 80 billion stars in one galaxy and they found there are six-thousand galaxies at least, and in every galaxy 80 billion and more stars. A paradise cannot have trillions of paradises within it? You open one, it goes to a bigger one; you open another, one it goes to another bigger one, and it never ends.

So nevermind, if you like the first Paradise, go. But you will not get the highest one, the other levels. So if you want other levels then you must have `amal. What is your `amal? It is not backbiting here; that is for normal people. For awliyaullah, no backbiting for them ever, as the one who cannot enter the understanding of the meanings of Allah's Names and Attributes, is the one has no `amal--even if he prays and fasts! .

.... that water is the Water of Life. Every letter must have a fountain of lively meaning and universes that have meanings embedded within the letters of Holy Qur'an. The Holy Qur'an is not as you read it. No one can translate, so how to translate an ocean in a letter? It might be people say if you enter an ocean in letter? I will give you an example: bring a 5-year-old child with a DS (game). What happened when he finishes? He opens another gate and another gate. So if that small chip is able to carry 100 games, what you think about the chip Allah has put in your head?
